Fool Me Once…
or: Shame On Me
I know better. These movies aren't for me but, I fall for them every time. So, "Captain America and the Colossus Looking, Silver Arm, Soviet, Half-Face Guy" hits cable the other night… the end credits were kinda fun…
I understand why I see nothing on the screen I recognize or remember. Print is dying. Marvel needs a new delivery system, a new audience and content to go with it. It's called survival. But all angry old man, get-off-my-lawn stuff aside, I really think the idea of a Super Cap is a bad idea.
Maybe I remember wrong but, the Cap I remember was just a guy. The "Super Soldier" serum wasn't a formula for Kal-el, it was the formula for Jim Thorpe. Rogers took a shortcut to physical perfection but didn't get any further. The rest was conviction, audacity and an inability to hesitate.
Powered up (and it seems to come and go) I'm not impressed. He seems a bit of a jerk and a bully. Now, Natasha. She's Impressive. She's no bigger or stronger than my mom and she's doing as much damage as Cap… hhmmm… I may have picked the wrong subject…
Too late.
May I present, our stalwart hero, doing what he does best.
Happy Trails,
Smitty
