In fact, those people are placed under investigation (not arrested yet) for "apologia for terrorism" (which is a crime in France).
Dieudonné M'bala M'bala was placed under investigation many time for "advocacy of hatred" against jewish people.
In France the liberty of speech is a standing debate, you can laugh at everything but "advocacy of hatred" is prohibited.

<p>This reminds me of America's Aliens and Sedition Acts of the late 1700s. Having just gone to war to ensure personal liberties, said liberties were then tossed in the trash. President doesn't like you, you're deported. Criticize the government, go to jail. Act like a founding father and revolutionary hero and you're guilty of treason.<br />

Most of the acts were allowed to lapse but the Enemies act remains today and was the justification for America's concentration camps during WWII.<br />
