Of Polecats and Owlhoots

or: What's This Book Doing Here

This week the Longbox of Mystery reveals Rawhide Kid #139 and, for the life of me, why this book is in my collection is a mystery to me. I've never followed western comics in general or the Rawhide Kid in particular. Judging from it's 30¢ cover price it's well before my days on Marvel's freebie list. A new cover by Gil Kane is nice enough but nothing spectacular. The same could be said of the interior art of Jack Davis. I as hoping to find an Al Williamson back-up strip to explain it but, no, it's a mystery.

But, rules is rules, this was book I pulled and my duty is clear. Ladies and germs, the RawhideKid.

PMS, I have even less of an emotional connection to Two-Gun Kid than you do, but sir, you have once again approached a semi-obscure/lesser-known character with both guns blazing! Jeff

It's the Rawhide Kid, not the Two Gun Kid. And one of your three comments would have been enough.
