Joker’s Wild

Joker’s Wild
or: A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Blog

Saved by the bell! I was in the midst of dragging you into the middle of the whole “Taking a knee for the National Anthem“ story when I became pleasantly side tracked.

Seems some “teacher” (note the quotes) decided to berate a student and drop her grade for her failure to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance. Note she hadn’t stood for years and it was no problem until the recent kerfuffle. The “teacher” goes on to tell the child that the flag stands for the U.S. military (WTF?) and she should respect the soldiers who fight for it. But, here’s the kicker, the student was an American Indian whose people had been tortured, raped and murdered, their lands stolen, food supply destroyed by soldiers under that flag and now the “teacher” expects the child to be grateful. You can’t make this stuff up.

So I’m thinkin’ maybe a shot of Captain America doin’ a facepalm. Then I decide it’s unfair to drag Marvel into this. hmmm... how’s ‘bout Uncle Sam?

So, I’m playing around with that, thinking of the insanity of the “teacher’s” tirade when it hits me: Lose the beard, swap the hat, give’em a smile and you have the Joker.

Everyone loves the Joker. Smiles all around.

Happy Trails

That image/drawing is much more meaningful with the story and thought behind it, thank you Smitty.
